Notes: I wanted to visually show how, in the story, these two women keep going out to eat together in an accidentally dating plot. So many pictures of food to go through to find ones that I felt suited! This might have ended up a little bit better if I hadn't gone with the Canva stock images, but there's only so much stock image searching before you start to lose it imo.

Description: A simple worksheet with a thick light blue borer and the title and credits set up as the header of the paper. The questions below are "What's the best sex you've ever had?" and "Why was it special?" Both questions have an accompanying answer box in light grey.

Notes: The catalyst for this story about a sexuality crisis is a worksheet about sexuality, so I thought it would be fun to make a recreation of that. The trick was trying to find something that wasn't straight boring black and white, while not being to childishly colorful. (Seriously, they could have worked, but I could not bring myself to defile something that originally about like, counting dinosaurs.)

Notes: I picked a random podfic from the "Cover Art Wanted" tag on AO3 and thought it might be fun to try an Original Work! The tags/description on the podfic were along the lines of aliens + heists, so I tried to roll with adding some textures that felt like they might be a part of like, building plans. Notes: The podfic/fic is a riff off of a hockey in joke about Dougie Hamilton preferring to go to museums instead of going out with his teammates.

So I decided to riff off of the most famous museum scene I could think of. (Also I just moved back to Chicago and it's killing me that I haven't been able to go to the Art Institute yet!) Throwing this under the hair square because I played a lot with fixing that guy's hair to make it more Dougie-ish, and I'm still not fully satisfied with it. I spent more time hair editing than sweatshirt editing!

The soundwaves represent the titles of each version of Annapods's bilingual podfic.

I used my May challenge cheat to swap "Xkcd" for "No text"

And that's a bingo for me!

Notes: I made this cover, realized it didn't clearly match any of the square on my card, and decided to use the Free Space as an excuse to talk about it anyway!

This cover art is for a podfic of a series consisting of two fics, so I started by making two trees in Paint. I aimed for roughly the same height and width, but didn't make them identical because the stories aren't identical.

I put the river under the first tree because of the first story's title. Then I put an orange mark in the trunk of the second tree to represent the key event of the second story: the POV character, who is colorblind, puts on color-correcting glasses and is stunned by the orange color of the other character's hair.

As I often do for Hockey RPF cover art, I used the team's colors for the font colors. Since the top line is the series title, I made it larger than the middle lines, which are the titles of each fic. I used burgundy for the fic titles because I felt it looked better so close to the river.

That should be everything! Please let me know if something needs clarifying. :)

I apparently never used my cheat from April (comment on the resources post), so I'll use it now to replace "archiveofourown.org/works/18215045" with "complemantary colors."

Covers:
There is already a cover art request post in this comm (https://poddersundercover.dreamwidth.org/779.html) and you can still use the other one of course. Additionally, you might want to use/check out the “podfic cover art welcome” and “cover art welcome” tags on ao3. But you can only get your monthly bingo cheat by using this post here.

Things you might want to mention: fandom, ships/characters, pairing, tropes, content notes, length, if the audio is available and where/how, visual elements and possible cover ideas, time restrictions if any, …

Words:
Alternatively, do you have a cover in need of some words to tell its story? Can be a cover for a specific fic without a podfic, a cover that sets up a as-of-yet unexplored premise, a cover for a general setting or tropes that could apply to any fandom, …

You might want to mention whether you’d edit the text of the cover yourself, or pass on the raw file, and if so in which format.

Collabs:
Do you have an idea for a cover you’d like to make a collab in some way or another? Or would you like to announce that you'd like to collab, and the project can be decided together? Same post!

Notes: As a former art student who used to bs projects by making them about dadaism, this is certainly not dada. However I liked the way the mix of colors turned out, especially in regards to working with the title. This was made literally by just throwing layer after layer after layer of the same texture pack on top of each other. Some stuff is flipped around, others have different opacities or effects. And given how quickly it all came together it might be something I have to try more often!

Notes: Given how often I read the trope, I've always wanted to try my hand at making cover art with matching soulmate marks. My real limitation was trying to find a couples tattoo image where the tattoos were small enough that I could layer over them without it looking weird. Also, that thing about if you say a word too many times it doesn't sound real, also applies if you look at too many pictures of wrists.

A Heaven of Blackbirds.png

A fairly simple cover this time: a flock of blackbirds in flight silhouetted against a sunset, with black text. The credits are in a sans serif font at the top, and the title is in a brush script font ("Sign Painter", probably from either dafont or 1001freefonts) angled up from the lower left.

The podfic is from this week's Voiceteam challenge, for First podfic in a new fandom (it's actually the third, since I recorded six podfics all in the same tiny fandom for this week).

Lace and Gold Braid.png

It's another Good Omens Az/Crowley, what can I say.

The main image (pattern) is a piece of 18th century lace from the collection of the Smithsonian museum. The new techniques are 1) I created a brush in GIMP from an image of a piece of gold braid, and 2) used that to stroke the path of the letters in the word Lace.

Fonts are Savoye and Sans Italic.
