notes: The fic this is based on is a break up/make up future fic after EJ has retired, so I was hesitant to put him in the cover in full uniform, but this was the most pensive and thoughtful picture I could find of him. My first instinct was to do a cover that was a play off of the title, but I'm glad I challenged myself to try something different!

i have been OBSESSED with this cover since i saw it. it feels like a book cover, all of the details. i love the blocky rectangles, the wood background and the sliver of trees, the big rectangle with the text. i LOVE ej. the picture you chose feels perfect, but also the softer focus, how he's lit up but also fading into the background, and between the two squares like he's stuck between them, like he's retreated into them. and nate!! standing tall, getting to overlay the rectangle and not be constrained by it. ahhhhhh. every time i look at this i find something else to appreciate. what a wonderful cover
